Biography

Master of Engineering from Waseda University in 1991. Akimoto joined Nippon Oil Company (ENEOS Corporation) as an engineer. He worked for R&D on oil products, fuel cell, and hydrogen carrier, for planning the technology toward Carbon Neutral.

Completed doctoral program of nuclear energy engineering at Kyoto University. Joined Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) in 2007 and worked for data analysis based on artificial intelligence and fluid-structure coupling simulation. After working in JAEA, joined IAE in 2013 and have worked for severe accident analysis and numerical analysis in energy field.
