Completed the Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, and joined the Central Technical Research Laboratory, Nippon Oil Co., Ltd., in 1990. Engaged in the development of optical films for liquid crystal displays.
Fellow, Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) since 2022, and joined IAE in 2026.
